Since 1994, we’ve been one of the pioneers in offering food and wine vacations in Italy. We partner exclusively with 4-star hotels and winery resorts across Tuscany, Amalfi, and Venice. Every restaurant, trattoria, enoteca, and winery we include in our tours is carefully hand-picked for its exceptional quality and unique charm.
What started as a fun way to show friends and family the enchanting hamlets, wineries, and hilltop towns of Florence has grown into a passion for sharing these treasures with people from all over the world. The Owner's Journey
Meet the Owner
Mario Vicidomini was born on April 11, 1970 in Castel San Giorgio, a small town in the province of Salerno, in southern Italy. He comes from a long line of artisan pasta makers, as his family has been producing Vicidomini artisanal pasta since 1812. Since childhood he was taught the method–perfected over generations–for making his family’s artisanal pasta and the importance of using quality ingredients for an outstanding product. From a young age, Mario demonstrated a natural aptitude for working with the “gold of the earth” (wheat). He continued to work in the family’s pastificio while attending university. After graduating with a degree in Motor Sciences from I.S.E.F. in Naples, his passion for travel intensified.
Travelling throughout Europe, and later more exotic locations, fostered the opportunity for Mario to feed his desire to learn about different cultures through food, wine, and meeting new people. His natural affinity for discovering new recipes and his mission to find the best quality ingredients continues to grow. This, combined with his desire to share his family’s products beyond Italy’s borders, led him to his current path.
Authentic food is such a huge part of a culture, that one might imagine actually being in that far-off place. But what if the journey was real? What if you could go beyond learning about a product’s origin from afar, but actually visit the place where it is produced and meet the people whose lives’ work is to create that taste of perfection? This is the inspiration for “ITALIAN LIFESTYLE”. United by a passion for both food and travel, Mario Vicidomini is ready to accompany his guests on a journey of gastronomical and cultural discovery in their beloved Italy.
Taking a leap of faith, Mario moved to the United States in 2014. After having visited dozens of times, he saw an opportunity to introduce Italian delicacies–including Vicidomini pasta–to kitchens across America. Home cooks and professional chefs, alike, savor each flavor as Mario explains the origin and preparation of each product that he has in his meticulously curated line of imports.
