Mario Vicidomini was born on April 11, 1970 in Castel San Giorgio, a small town in the province of Salerno, in southern Italy.He comes from a long line of artisan pasta makers, as his family has been producing Vicidomini artisanal pasta since 1812. Since childhood he was taught the method–perfected over generations–for making his family’s artisanal pasta and the importance of using quality ingredients for an outstanding product. From a young age, Mario demonstrated a natural aptitude for working with the “gold of the earth” (wheat). He continued to work in the family’s pastificio while attending university. After graduating with a degree in Motor Sciences from I.S.E.F. in Naples, his passion for travel intensified.

Travelling throughout Europe, and later more exotic locations, fostered the opportunity for Mario to feed his desire to learn about different cultures through food, wine, and meeting new people. His natural affinity for discovering new recipes and his mission to find the best quality ingredients continues to grow. This, combined with his desire to share his family’s products beyond Italy’s borders, led him to his current path.

Taking a leap of faith, Mario moved to the United States in 2014. After having visited dozens of times, he saw an opportunity to introduce Italian delicacies–including Vicidomini pasta–to kitchens across America. Home cooks and professional chefs, alike, savor each flavor as Mario explains the origin and preparation of each product that he has in his meticulously curated line of imports.

With deep local knowledge and years of hands-on experience, I design and lead immersive food and wine journeys that connect travelers with authentic regional traditions, artisan producers, and local culture.

My tours combine storytelling, tastings, producer visits, local markets, and hands-on culinary experiences, giving guests not only incredible food but also a deeper understanding of the history, people, and techniques behind every dish.
